Solna founded by swedish publisher Albert Bonnier Jr. In 1946, Solna started producing sheetfed presses in license of American Type Founders ATF, the first Solna AFT Chief 22. Resulting in numerous modernizations, new series were developed and Solna was quickly expanding to one of the biggest sheetfed press suppliers in the world. Besides sheetfed, Solna started the production of its first web offset press in 1952, the solna R52 followed in 1963 by the first blanket-to blanket press, the Solna RP50.

1994, RPM began cooperate with Solna Offset AB (Sweden) and acquired the manufacturer license ,the equipment, the techniques, accessories and repairs to build Solna25 series sheet-fed offset printing machine. And introduced the first solna sheetfed offset press to China market in the same year. The printing machine developed fastly in 21 century. RPM focused on shorten pre-press preparation time and change plate time to increase the productivity, not on high printing speed.

Today, Solna supplies the most modern print technology available on the market, for example the solna D480 is the most advanced and high performed print unit ever built.Solna is one of the pioneers in using single motor shaftless drive systems. The modern 4-high-towers D380 and D480, as well as C800, are equiped with this advanced drive system from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. The latest development is the Solna PC Print&Process Control System, a modern open-architecture control system suitable for the complete Solna product range. Interfaced with production management systems, the Solna PPC offers a complete and reliable control automation concept.

Solna D390 were installed in Wen wei po, Hongkong, Foshan Daily,Foushan and China Daily, Beingjing, PR China.

The first Solna D480 in Asia were installed in Xiamen Daily, equiped with one set section for high quality magazine prinnting. The first Solna C800 for commeicial printing were installed in Hunan.

Solna introduced Folder F780 with high speed and M80 high speed splicer to the market, developed QF80 to meet the demand of newspaper printing. RPM cooperated with Wifag which is the most famous company in priting machine, Wifag was responsible for the research and RPM and Solna are two producation base.
